Worst flight booking with edreams

In Australia, i bought a ticket with Edreams from Prague to Milan but they didn't offer luggage choice online. I thought I could buy luggage with the airline company online but no, I couldn't add luggage through my booking but had to buy through this agent which I found out when I was already overseas. The call was transferred from one person to another. Finally they charged me $70 for 23kg luggage when the airline company only charges $52.5. This didn't include international roaming for 20mins. worst experience ever!

When I look at edreams and try to book PRG to MIL, I'm offered airlines that include luggage as well as airlines that only include hand luggage. If you choose a hand luggage only option, you are prompted that you can add luggage after the booking is confirmed.

If you book thru an online agent, you cannot expect to then deal directly with the airline on their website (or by phone), you have to go thru your booking agent's online option Manage Your Booking. Usually (but not always), the only thing you can do directly on the airline website is online check-in.

If you cannot manage to add luggage after the booking was confirmed, I would have called edreams and got them to add it for you.

If the luggage prices were not posted online before the booking could be made, I would go elsewhere to book or call edreams to find out costs before booking a flight and then having no choice but to cough up whatever price they quote for luggage.

I can think of far worse airline experiences than having to part with $70, esp if your airfare was $50 to start with.

The OP registered to complain (no questions, just a rant) so probably won't see the responses but . . . if an extra $17.50 is your "worst experience ever!" you must have had a charmed life.

<<Google trip advisor air travel firm they have continuous threads of horror stories on bravofly Edreams opodo etc. >>

Why is this a horror story? Nothing went wrong did it? The OP could not read the screen nor the email confirmation which tells him what the luggage allowance is. He also could not call edreams before his travels to add luggage nor it seems could he follow the instructions to use the booking site to add it. Why would booking direct help the reading of the screen and email confirmation?

You working for one of these Odin ?
Nothing went much wrong but should OP have booked via the airline he would have added in one click his luggage for less money.
Like I did last month - retrieve reservation modify luggge. Click. Done.
Once you want modify something something with a third party you are in trouble.
Maybe you should read some of these stories on TA.

If you choose to book with a third party booking site instead of directly with the airline, you get what you deserve.
