Worried Mom needs CLEAN Athens Hotel
My daughter is backpacking thru Europe and is presently in Santorini. She stayed at the Hotel Tempi overnight upon arriving in Athens. She is not too picky, but said it was sleezy (Frommer's recommended it for students). I hate to see her spend her last 2 days in Europe at this place. Can anyone tell me someplace nice but reasonable to stay. I will forward her the info. But need info ASAP. Thanks,
worried mom

I suggested to your daughter before she left that she should check out the Hotel Attalos in Athens. And I still recommend it. Check it out at:

www.greekhotel.com/athens/attalos/home.htm.

Just tell her to pay the few drachmas more for the air conditioner control.

It's probably too late for your daughter but I justed wanted to agree with the previous post--Attalos is a great hotel. We stayed there in March, had a big room on the 5th floor with views of Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill. We stayed there a few days, went off to explore more of Greece, and then returned for 3 more days. When we returned, we had rm 605 on 6th floor and even a better view. Rm 606 is a corner room and probably one of the best.

The people working the desk are very helpful and friendly and the location is perfect.
