Wireless access in France?
This may be a really silly question, but I wonder about the wireless internet access availability in Southern France. Although I know rural US would have very little wireless availability, I have heard that other countries are way ahead of the US in providing wireless access community-wide, so I thought it was worth a shot to ask those who may know. I will be traveling to the area around Nice in a few weeks. Just wondering. Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

The Nice airport has WiFi access for about 8€ an hour.
Here are two restos that offer free access--you'll need to buy a drink or meal--that I learned about on riviera.angloinfo.com:
Le Queenie
19 Promenade des Anglais

Florida Plage
(3€ entrance fee)
71 Promenade des Anglais
And there's always McDonald's:
McDonald's
606 route Grenoble
McDonald's
15 boulevard Delfino
McDonald's
47bis avenue Jean Medecin

RLUCIDO, you might stumble on an unprotected wireless network. We had a choice of three during our stay in a hotel in Paris in May. My wife was back in an apartment in Paris in August and found a wireless network there, too.
