I am planning a "long weekend" to London, probably next Feb. flying from LAX. 2 questions<BR>1. How cheap an airfare am I likely to get and 2. How cold/wet will London be in February?<BR>steve

Went to London in February '02. Paid $441 RT from LAX on American Airlines, a webfare directly on their site. I thought that was a pretty good fare. Would have been $401 had I flown on Tues - Thurs. You can book a cheap fare on American right now for that time period. Check their website under "Fare Sales."<BR><BR>I went for more than a week, but you might do even better if you take a chance and wait for a last minute weekend fare.<BR><BR>Highs were in the low 40's F. For weather patterns, just go onto www.weather.com, select the "World" tab, then type in London, United Kingdom. You will get not only the current forecast but can select historical records and trends and even view day by day, month by month.<BR><BR>The rainfall was minimal that month.

Hi Steve!<BR><BR>I am also planning a trip to London in winter - end of January/beg. of February. I haven't booked tickets yet, but will soon. So far, I've found $420 R/T from Washington, DC. I've checked all the major sites (Travelocity, Expedia, etc, plus the websites for United, Delta, and British Airways). Good luck! How long are you going for? I'll be there for 2 weeks, including a 5 day jaunt out into the countryside.

Hi Steve,<BR>I was there 2-1 thru 2-4 this year. Weather was much warmer than the NY metro area at the same time of year. We only had one evening with rain. I would say it was in the mid 40's. If you go to www.allthingsbritish.com you can get sunrise/sunset times and weather (historical highs and lows)<BR>I would wait to buy your ticket. I got a $298.00 r/t including taxes (which are now around 100.00) from Newark. Also, this past year the Offical London Theater Guide was promoting the Lord Mayor's theater special. I hope it goes again this year. You can get tickets for West End shows for 10,15 or 20GBP. It was a great deal. Their website has a lot of other good info, too.<BR>Cheers,<BR>Pat

Hi Steve<BR><BR>I live in London. You should expect February to be quite cold (think single digit temperatures in degrees celcius) - bring lots of jerseys. The days are usually overcast, often with rain - so a decent coat and an umbrella are a must too.

Actually, considering February is pretty cold and wet everywhere in Europe, I think Londond's not a bad choice. Sure, it's dark and chilly, but then poor weather doesn't spoil London, as the theatre, restaurants, museums etc are all indoors anyway.
