My husband and I will be traveling to Tuscany region in early September and will be spending three nights. We have a car and will be driving from visiting family in Ancona along the Adriatic and want to spend a few days visiting the Tuscany region visiting a few wineries and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Any suggestions as to what area to stay and wineries to visit? Also any suggestions on some B&B's?

I would also like to add that after those few days we will be traveling to the Chieti area in the Abruzzi region.
I have an extensive list of resturants and wineries. Email jnjfraz@cableone.net and I will get it to you.
I would stay near Montepulciano coming from that direction.
Look at Terre di Nano or Villa Cicolina
If you decide on Montepulciano, a friend recommended the tour at Redi winery. They take you down to an Etrucan cave and it is supposed to be excellent.
Thank you for all of your suggestions. This is such a great forum and happy I found it. When staying in these areas, do you find it better to stay in the small towns or in the larger cities (ie, Sienna, Arezzo)? Since we will only be there 2-3 nights, what type of accomodations are suggested. I see alot of B&B's. What has been your experiences with the B&B's. Farmhouses??
