Any highly rated places to go for a wine tour/tasting venture in Tuscany? We are staying in Castelfiorentino and will have a vehicle.

This question has been discussed numerous times on this forum. You can access those discussions by using the search function above--just type in your title. Greve, which is very close to you, has a fabulous Cantinetta that allows tastes of upwards of 200 wines. Tuscany is quite large and segments into different wine areas--Brunello, Chianti and Rosso di Montepulciano. Read up first and get more specific--guided tours, tasting rooms, wineries and then there are whole villages and towns. Have fun. Paul

I can recommend Poggio Antico, near Montalcino on the way to Grossetto.

This winery is famous for its Brunello di Montalcino and super Tuscan.

It also has one of the best restaurants in the area.

We had a very enjoyable tour at Verazzano. They also have a lunch.

Castello Banfi makes some great wines. You could have lunch with 3 courses/accompanying wines, taste in their tasting room, and tour their winery. It's outside Montalcino.

I also toured Banfi and thought it was very nice. The lunch was fantastic (3 course with wine to match the food) and the tour was interesting. An easy drive from Montalcino. Also in Montalcino, there is a tasting room at the fort (the name escapes me) - you can taste all sorts of regional wines and prices were reasonable.
