Will the Travelcards w/ London Olympic tickets work with 2 for 1 deals?
Heading to London in a few weeks to enjoy the games. We have the paper travelcards that came with our tickets to use for the three days we have events. Will these work with the 2 for 1 deals? They say "Olympic Games" or something of the sort on the card. Related question - I've seen in other threads that you need a passport sized photo to get a paper travelcard to use with 2-1 deals. Do they give the passport photo back? I'd like to keep it with me in case I lose my passport and need to replace.

you don't need a photo for a paper travelcard. (Years ago you did need a photo for a one week travelcard - but not in the last decade or so.) Or perhaps there is a special rule for travelcards issued for/by the Olympics??
What do your travelcards look like? Do they have the National Rail logo?

1. Photocards are required to get the 2 for 1 deal with seven day travelcards. They're not needed for getting the deals with a one day travelcard or for what this promotion is intended for: people buying a return ticket from outside London into London.
2. The 2 for 1 offer applies ONLY on tickets bought from a railway company. Olympic one day travelcards AREN'T issued by a railway company.
In practice, it's unlikely you'd have time to visit many attractions on a day you're visiting the games. Time to get to and from most venues, and the considerable time recommended for getting there in advance is likely to eat far more into your day than you realise.

If they've got special requirements for the photo beyond what you can get from an ordinary photobooth - can't you just order additional prints from the photographer?

Thanks all. The travelcards do have the national rail logo. One of our events isn't until nightime, so I was thinking we would have a short time for sightseeing that morning. If the 2 for 1 won't work with the Olympics travelcards we can make other arrangements those days. We are planning on getting the 7 day travelcard to cover the rest of our trip after our Olympics events - so looks like we will need the photo for that.

"The travelcards do have the national rail logo"
Irrrelevant. ALL Travelcards have the National Rail logo, because ALL Travelcards have some validity on some National Rail trains
As I said, you must have a Travelcard bought from a railway company to get the 2 for 1 deal (I don't write this stuff as some kind of Creative Writing exercise, you know).
Such tickets are a different colour from the TfL issued Travelcard that comes with your Olympic tickets.
