I guess the cover will also prevent the caressing of Oscar's prominent genitals that can be clearly seen under his pants and which women I guess have caressed for years in hopes of something.

It is the tomb of Victor Noir that has the shiny genital area. Rubbing him is supposed to increase fertility. Oscar's tomb is covered in lipsticked kisses

The penis on the angel of Oscar Wilde's tomb was broken off years ago. During this renovation, it was Wilde's only grandson who decided not to have the genitals restored.

if you want to read a funny book about the
People like Wilde who comeback to Pere LaChaise as cats,
read "waiting for Gertrude" (Stein)

avalon is correct, it's Victor Noir whose willy is rubbing away in time.

I preferred the tomb with all the kisses...

Must have been the only tomb in the whole world covered with kisses...what an honour....it will be kiss the glass now..or break the glass.

What a shame people spoil the thing they love. It's like the mindless locks on bridges.

At least there is only the odd ballet slipper left on Diaghelev's tomb and flowers on Keats' memorial.

more disheartening then the kisses was -- that 1st photo. It is a crime what Rupert Everett has done to himself. Some plastic surgeon's should be shot . . .
