Why do you love Greece?

I need help in deciding whether to book a June 2005 trip that includes 5 days in Athens (from which I would take days trips) and then a Silversea cruise which visits four Greek islands. I would like to hear why people love Greece.

I love Greece because in June every day is sunny. You do not have to worry about the weather. The people are great and it is a very relaxing country. It is not fancy and you do not need to dress for dinner. There are a few hotels that cater to that life style, but mostly it is relaxing. The history is terrific and the Greek myths are so creative. I love ruins. Also there is something about the blue sea, the blue sky and the starkness of the countryside that is enchanting. The fresh fish, fruit, and vegatables are great. Have a wonderful time.

I diagree with you. There are many places that you have to be well-dressed in order to get access to them. But the good thing is that depending on your style, you can find places that fit to your style and character. After all, the point is to be your self. So, enjoy it as much as you can and most of all, express your self!

yclarke-there's an interesting and informative cnn.com article in the Travel section called "The Hidden Pleasures of Athens"-just click on the Travel heading, and you'll see the link.

Architecture, classical history, climate, hospitality of the Greeks, and the food & pace of life.

The Today Show's daily snippet of life in Greece has me salivating for my next trip!

YClark,
Please repost with some details of your trip and itinerary. It sounds great! Through whom/what are you booking? We're a family of 5-6 looking to book just such an adventure next summer! Please help if you can. Thanks in advance for any info.
