Where would you spend 3+ weeks in Europe?
If you were planning your September honeymoon, what would your itinerary be if you had 3+ weeks to spend?
(Excluding Rome, Venice, & Tuscany, since I've been there already)
I tagged random countries, but it can be anywhere in Europe.
Thanks!

Pretty wide open question of course - Paris of course is made for lovers they say - start in London - take the Eurostar train to Paris - then head to Switzerland for a week or so and end up in Munich for October Fest (in mid to late September) and do some day trips from Munich - there are many. going by train I presume and or flights?
Check www.ricksteves.com and www.budgeteuropetravel.com for idea on train itineraries - download the latter free online and superb IMO European Planning & Rail Guide for loads of such itineraries all over Europe. www.seat61.com has great advice on ticketing - especially discount tickets but on a honeymoon I'd go first class and take a sleeper train with private compartment to really celebrate your nuptials. Can bring any food or drink onboard - saves also on the cost of a hotel.

It would be in September. My current itinerary is a week in Paris and two weeks in Spain, but I just wanted to see if there were any other ideas.
PalenQ, I like the October fest idea!

I would do a week in Paris and a slow, romantic road trip through a couple area of the French countryside: for us probably the Loire, Burgundy and Alsace, but there are many options.
For an ordinary trip I would probably instead combine France and parts of Germany, but somehow to me the latter is not as romantic as France.

If so try going the opening weekend when the world-famous parades lead the first barrels of beer to be tapped to the festival grounds - usually around Sep 20 or so.
Cheers! Prost!

Maybe a big trip around France? Take a car and drive around Bordeaux with red wine, then to Normandy to taste Calvados and go to Alsace to drink white wine? If you get bored on the western part, you can always go to Spain, if you get bored on Eastern - go to Switzerland. Or there is Britain on north...

Depends on whether you want to see as much of Europe as possible - in a fairly relaxed way - or just see a few big cities like Paris or London where one can spend days.
I'd suggest may picking out three or so tourist meccas and taking the train in between them - do the base city strategy - stay several days in one base like Paris and do some day trips into the surrounding area - like to Chartres or Reims for Champagne tours or Normandy for D-Day beaches, etc.
Relocating is a pain - try to limit your bases and see the more rural areas on day trips from them.

Mykonos for the fun.>
Be careful which beaches you pick out - the famous Paradise Beach is like a normal beach but the Super Paradise Beach is one of the world's most acclaimed gay beaches! Ditto for night spotd - Mykonos - something for everybody and more...

I've been to Munich Oktoberfest, and the things I remember most are the crowds and the packed beer tents. There are lots of interesting sights in the Munich area, but I don't think it would be worth a lengthy diversion from France or Spain.
If you are interested in wine, you could check on a day tour from Paris to the Champagne region.
