Where to stop for Lunch between Paris and Poitiers

I am travelling down by car from Paris on the N10 this Saturday and wondered if anyone knew of anywhere nice to stop for a picnic Lunch and a bit of grovery shopping between Paris and Poitiers.

I was thinking of somewhere like Tours. There are seven of us between two cars and we are on a fairly tight schedule so we dont want to stray too far from the main road. Any advice gratefully received

Tours is a large city which can be confusing especially if you need to connect with two cars. Since you'll probably be taking the A10 freeway, I suggest instead that you stop in Blois. It's smaller and should be easier to get in and out of. There is a lovely park just at the base of the chateau if you want to picnic (I'm not actually sure if picnics are permitted, but I do know the park is nice) and you should be able to find the chateau (the main attraction in town) very easily.

Blois is a good suggestion, or you might consider Amboise, which looks as though it would be just a smidgeon less driving. You could have lunch at Madame Bigot's just beneath the château or have a picnic on the river. There are plenty of stores for picking up groceries as well.

60% of the enjoyment of Chambord is outside only, and you don't have to pay anything to have a picnic lunch there - - or there is a little inn within a 100 meters - - makes for great lunch scenery.

Or you could hold off all the way to Chartres (not EXACTLY on your route - - but a great little detour).

Best wishes,

Rex
Thanks for the replies, apart from the one rather obvious one.
How easy is it to get to Bois from the N10 and is there reasonable parking on a Saturday?
Also Rex, in Chambord, dont suppose you know the name and address of the inn you mentioned.
Thanks
