Hi forum! You have been much help to me. My husband and I are flying in to Venice in September for one night. We leave for florence the next day. Where should we stay and in what neighborhood? Something in close proximity to the train station.
Much thanks!
Where to stay in Venice, Italy for the night?

I stayed here once: http://www.albergomarin.it/it/rooms/
Close to the station (across the bridge and behind a church) and easy to jump on a vaparetto to go down the Grand Canal. Relatively inexpensive for Venice.
Bad girl!
About 1/2 of a day in Venice, tsk tsk.
I saw your other posts, way too ambitious.
Try learning about an open jaw ticket, which will save you much time and, essentially, cost nothing.
We stayed twice at the Hotel Abbazia, about 2 minutes walk from the train station: http://www.abbaziahotel.com. It was convenient, and the staff was very hospitable.
Rastaguy we changed our flight, we are leaving from Rome, not Venice anymore
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
