The train is a great, efficient and inexpensive way to get from Rome to Venice. The trip is about 4.5 hrs one way.

As far as hotels go, can you tell us what your budget is, the time of year you're going and how many people will be in the room? All of these factors can effect the price.

FYI... No matter where you go - book ASAP - as early as you can. Our top two choices were booked 2 mos out.

But yes, we need a budget idea in order to help you.

The overnight train between Rome and Venice is good--then you don't have too pay for a hotel and you don't waste daylight hours that could be spent somewhere more interesting. Of course, part of that depends on how long your trip is--you might want to relax and watch the scenery go by during the day.
