My family and i are going to Florence for 5 nights and then traveling down to Tuscany/Umbria and would love to find a beautiful place to stay in the country that is centrally located to traveling to all the beautiful towns in the regions. we would like to spend under 500 euro. any ideas?

We loved Montepulciano and stayed in an apartment. We got it through the owner who we know personally but it's also listed on vrbo.

2Italy

Take a look at Palazzina Cesira in Montalcino. It's a very nice little place in the center of Montalcino that has about 5 rooms and they're all nice. Breakfasts are very good and the owners are on and take excellent care of you.

Montalcino is a great little town with commanding views over the countryside. It's easy to get in/out of and it's easy to get to Pienza, Cortona, San Quirico, etc.

Hi, my mother, sister and I stayed for three nights at Terre di Nano near Monticchiello. Lovely olive and vineyard setting with apartments as well as a B&B, option for breakfast, pool, well-equipped kitchen and just the perfect spot to appreciate that we REALLY were in Tuscany. It also had us in position to use Stu Dudley's driving tour of he Val D'Orcia - the best part of our trip!
