Where to stay in Trogir

Hello. I'm having difficulty deciding where to stay in Trogir. We have found an apartment in the old town area, and a house to rent 3 miles out of town with a wonderful water view and a pool. (which we probably won't need in October!) There are also lots of properties in Ciavo available. Has anyone been on that island that is near Trogir?
Any advice would be welcome!

Trogir old town area is perfect for people who likes atmosphere, history and romantic dinner at evening.
If you are coming in first half of October then weather is usually still warm and pool is inviting to deep in.
Island Ciovo is for those people who likes relaxing holidays by the beach, walking and enjoying the natural beauty and litlle village with restaurants with posibility to visit Trogir or Split.
There is frequent bus line from Trogir to Okrug Gornji.
Hope it will help.

How long will you be there? What time of year? What are your goals for the area - sightseeing, relaxing, ...?

Thanks for the replies. We will be there only 2 nights in early October. I think we've decided on the house five miles out of the old town area. We'll drive into town. Appreciate the help!

We stayed in Ciovo just over the bridge from Trogir. A five minute walk if that. No beach, just lots of boats. We really like our B&B, the Villa Moretti. Our room had a great view of Trogir as did the loggia, where we breakfasted.

That could work well. I must admit that I don't like to drive after dark, and I do like to have wine with dinner and don't drive after drinking, so I was glad to be in Trogir itself. But it really depends on your needs and interests.
