Where to stay in Provence

Jump to last reply

It's my first time in France and I'm set on visiting Provence to get a taste of the more rural, quintissential French villages. I won't be renting a car, so I would need to access towns with train stations. I was thinking of Avignon, however I would be there right in the middle of the Festival, and I was hoping for a quieter more relaxing/ slow paced stay. Any suggestions? I would like a base from which I can visit the lavender fields, probably with a tour since I won't have my own car. Any input would help!!

Thanks!
