Where to stay (2-3 nights each) to explore Brittany?
We will be going to Brittany in late September/early October. Where would you suggest that we stay (2-3 places) to explore the area?
Here is our itinerary for the trip starting in Normandy:
* Rouen--3 nights (to rest and to begin to see Normandy)
* Bayeux--2 nights (to see Bayeux and the D-day area)
* Dinan--3 nights to see Mont St. Michel and the area around there
Where else should we stay in Brittany to see the area, going from Dinan west and then southeast along the coast? We'd like to stay each place for 2 to 3 nights. If we have too much time, we can go to the Loire Valley on our way back to Paris. Thoughts?
Would also appreciate your suggestions for B&Bs or hotels in each spot.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!
Joanne

Ploumanac'h? It's on the Rose Granite Coast, near some of Brittany's Parish Closes, convenient for a visit to Treguer, etc. I loved my stay and my dinner at the Hotel des Rochers:

If you are interested in seeing the alignments and other megaliths in and around Carnac, you might consider Vannes.
Enjoy!

You might want to look at this trip report: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ummer-2009.cfm and an earlier one that starts in Ghent; click on my name to find the latter.

If you need some info about exploring the area from Rouen to Bayeux you can check out this thread:

Here is a trip report I wrote (with lots of photos) about spending 5 days exploring the area near Dinan. The report is full of info to help people exploring Brittany and has links to just about every tourist office and other website you could need to help you research Brittany and find accommodation:

If you are going to Carnac/Gulf of Morbihan here is a trip report about 1 week I spent exploring that area:

I have no specific hotel recommendations but any tourist office website will list all the accommodation in their respective towns and if you find something you like you can always search for reviews to help you decide.
