Where to ski and enjoy Christmas markets

Jump to last reply

We are a family of father, mother, 7.5 year old and 4 year old.

As our youngest will be turning 4, we are thinking he is old enough for his first ski lesson.
We are by no means big skiers, hence we are looking to spend 2-3 days skiing, and the rest of the time enjoying European towns/villages filled with winter and Christmas charm and just Europe in general! We intend to spend around 2 weeks total.

We can fly into Frankfurt or Amsterdam or Rome (using mileage). I am not sure where to head from here. Italian mountains? Swiss? Austria? Czech? Germany itself?

The last time we went skiing was to Nozawa onsen near Nagano, Japan in March 2008.
In Europe, we've been to Amsterdam, Brugge, Swiss Alps in summer, Venice in summer.
