Where to purchase train tickets and how?

Jump to last reply

I've come across a number of different sites for purchasing train tickets in Italy but need suggestions on the main ones that I can count on to be straight forward and legitimate. We're traveling by train from Rome to Florence and Florence to Venice. Is it better to purchase the tickets in advance or just buy them there? It's our first time traveling by train in Europe, just need to make sure I know what I'm doing!
