Where to go for 50th anniversary.

Next year will be our 50th anniversary in November so want to plan something special. My first choice was Greece but would need to go a different time due to weather. So give me your best suggestions. We are under 70 & fairly fit & enjoy adventure & a place full of history.

Easy.
Sicily.
Ruins, history, good weather (check just in case), great cities, great food, great people.
Great wine.

Did I say great wine ?

I don't know why Greece would be a problem in November because of weather. What kind of weather do you want? Most of Europe is rather bleak and rainy and cold in November, but there are sunny spots here and there. Plus, you might encounter refugee issues in Greece, which are becoming more and more of an issue according to our local newspapers here in France.

Places full of history are impossible to avoid all over Europe. What history? What time period?

Your request is too vague. You need to do your own research and narrow it down before we can help you.

Thanks Whathello. That's a great suggestion. We've traveled to Europe 5 times & have loved everywhere we've been. St. Cirq I just enjoy people's ideas. I realize I wasn't specific because I enjoy hearing from people who found a great magical place. I would enjoy pleasant weather so choose travels during those times & the stability & safety of a place are important too. Appreciate your feedback even though you come across as annoyed.

Are you going early or late November? If late, I'd go to Paris and enjoy the holiday decor, lights and festive atmosphere. There is so much to do there if weather does not cooperate.

Our anniversary is the 24th but plan to spend a few weeks so might make our anniversary the month of November, after all it's 50 years so time to pull out all stops.
