If you are talking about restaurants that are bit more elegant rather than offering just good food, you might want to try the restaurants in the Hotel Mueller or the Hotel Lisl. Just about 3 or 4 minutes away from the Neuschwanstein parking area is the Hotel Restaurant Rubezahl.

We stayed at the Hotel Rubezahl and had dinner on their outside patio with a view of the castle in the distance. The food was excellent, and the breakfast the following morning was outstanding!!

We had lunch on a patio (Hotel Rubezehl?) with a view of the castle.

It was on a beautiful October day with the golden leaves of the trees drifting down...one of those times to say "Now this is why we travel."

I have no idea what we ate...

A very good, reasonably priced restaurant 5 minutes from the center of Hohenschwangau on the road to Schwangau at the Alpenhotel Meier--family owned and operated:

We enjoyed their outdoor dining patio listening to the cowbells nearby.
