Hi, I am looking for the best site to buy point to point train tickets from Paris to Munich and Munich to Venice on the City night line. Any suggestions?

So I was able to book our trans thru the suggested website but as I do not speak german cannot tell if everything is ok. Should I have coach and seat numbers on our tickets? I want to ensure that my husband and I are in the same cabin! The below is what I think is the info I am looking for but unfortunately cannot tell for sure!

I don't speak German, either, but those words are fairly predictable. Wg is abbreviation for Wagen, I presume (which is the car number), and Pl. are the seat numbers (places in French) although I thought they are Sitzplatze in German (seats). Maybe they abbrev. that as Pl.

CNL is City Night Line, that would have the train number after it. Bettplatze means it is a bed type reservation (bed place).

Pl. = Platz (singular) or Plätze (plural) (place/s, by which is understood a seat). Sitzplatz means much the same thing, a sitting spot as opposed to a sleeping spot (Bettplatz).

Be aware that the numbering system for the BEDS in Citynightline trains can be confusing to some. You would think that the berths in the same cabin would have successive numbers but they don't always.

Do your tickets have actual numbers or hash marks?

It looks like you have a double room. Bed numbers should start with the same numeral, e.g. 5, to indicate cabin 5. Then the bed numbers would probably be 51 and 52 if both are lower bunks or more likely 51 and 53 if one is above the other.

The wagon number should be shown on your ticket. Every rail car has a number, specific for that particular train.

The train number should also be shown, not hash marks next to the CNL.

I presumed the OP just put hashmarks for some reason as a placeholder rather than showing us the actual numbers, although I don't know why.

Spaarne, yes my tickets have actually numbers.

Dukey1 - that was one thing I noticed, we are in beds 11 and 15 for one trip and 42 and 46 for another trip.

When I looked up the train's map it showed beds 11,13 and 15 in one cabin and for our second trip 42,44 and 46 in one cabin. We booked a double cabin so I'm assuming that on our trains beds 13 and 44 just don't exist.

It sounds like you might have T-3 configurations. Beds 13 and 44 would be the middle beds. They are either folded up or do not exist. If they are folded up then beds 15 and 46 are at the top of the cabin with very little head room. I don't like those top beds, mainly because I do not like climbing the ladder to reach them.
