where should I stay on my last night in Holland

I am already freaking out about my last night in Holland. My plane leaves at 11:00 am. My biggest fear is to miss the plane. I would consider staying outside of Amsterdam, as long as I have a place near any train station. Cost is definately a factor as I am a low budget traveller. I am travelling with a friend however, so there is the possibility of sharing the expence.

I too hate to get up and make a pre-noon plane on the return trip. Sometimes the best solution is to stay at a hotel near the airport and use the hotel's shuttle the next morning. Schipol is only 20 min from Amsterdam by frequent train service, if you want to stay in the city. There have been a number of Amsterdam hotel postings from which you can search.

How much of a budget are you on? I saw the IBIS Schipol offering rooms for about 110 Euro/double room a few weeks ago, tho I am not sure if this rate is still good. I was serching for rooms in Amsterdam proper and saw this lised on some reservations website (don't remember which one-it might have been hotels.nl)

Was this what you were loking for ??

Judy in Germany

We've stayed at the Ibis at Schiphol a couple of times and thought it was fine. Good buffet breakfast, free shuttle to the airport, comfortable rooms. Lousy souvenir shop but you're going to duty free heaven anyway.

You might check out www.biddingfortravel.com to see recent results of priceline.com bids for A'dam - I think there are several but most are probably not in the airport area.
Take the pressure off and book a room for a night near Centraal Station in Amsterdam. That way there is no panic in the morning about getting to the train station, and you know there are so many fast trains (about four an hour, at least) to Schiphol from Centraal Station.

Also, you can have a great night in Amsterdam the night before in the safe knowledge that your biggest fear of missing the plane the next morning will not be realised.

The Hotel Brouwer is on the Singel Canal, and only about a five-ten minute walk from the train station. It'd only set you back 80 Euros for a double room, and it's a lovely canalside hotel. The breakfasts and the owners are great. Book soon, though, as it is always full well in advance.

Don't freak out...relaxxx!
