Where should I go for my 30th anniversary?

Tell us more about yourselves. Luxembourg is a fine city to visit if you've already been to London, Paris, Brussels, Munich, Rome, Vienna and most of the major cities of Europe. It is not the place to visit for a first timer to Europe other than offering a central point from which to take interesting day trips. What are your interests - city life or rural environment? history, art, architecture? Shopping, dining, walking? Language proficiencies? What time of year? Need to know a great deal before making recommendations.

I just got back from Alsace and thought it was very quaint and romantic. The food is greta, hotels inexpensive and sights are interesting. I spent a day in Strasbourg then traveled the "Route du Vin" to Ribeauville and riquwihr. <BR> <BR>It was the perfect trip. If you have any questions, please Email me.

Oh I forgot.... If you don't want to go to a small city, how about Rome? It truely an amazing place. Lots to see and do and the Italians are soooooo romantic! <BR> <BR>I always recommend the Hotel Due Torri which is very centrally located between the Piazza Navona and Spanish Steps. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are modern and the rooms are quiet. The hotel also includes a nice continental breakfast with the rate. <BR> <BR>For links, some pictures and other stuff about Rome, check out my websight! Luxembourg City, in my opinion, is a dull place, worth no more than a few hours. It straddles a series of ravines, but has no outstanding architectural landmarks nor much of interest in natural beauty. The city is honeycombed with caverns and tunnels carved by Austrian troops in the 1700s. Personally, I would opt for Paris -- so much to see, so much to do, and so reasonably priced nowdays with the strong dollar.
