Where is this place in Denmark?
This is a long shot, but I have to try anyway.
My girlfriend’s older brother passed away some years ago due to a freak accident. Before this, however, he visited Denmark and he took this picture there. According to my girlfriend, this is the last picture he took of himself.
She wants to visit this place, as it holds great meaning to her, for she loved her brother very much, but she does not know where this place is.
I know it is not much to go on, but I am hoping that someone who either lives there or has traveled there recognizes something from this picture and can tell me where exactly this place is in Denmark (I’m hoping the statue in the background provides useful.)
Any help would be greatly and highly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Here is a link to the picture. I can't seem to post it here:

Yes I know exactly where this is.
I could not open your site, so I went on my smartphone and open it there.
Very sorry that this fellow is no longer with us.
1. This picture was taken in Copenhagen.
2. Beyond the statue are masts from yachts parked in the harbour.
3. Your girlfriend's older brother is sitting on a bench in Langeline Park, the park is small and is along the long lovely
Langeleine Promenade.
4. The Statue is of Carl Aarslef and is titled "After the Bath"
You can see in the picture that he is wiping himself down after the bath.
5. To simplify exactly where this is , it is only about 1/2 block from "The Little Mermaid" statue ( and everyone knows where that is.
The picture was taken from the south looking north.

I am so happy to be able to help your girlfriend and I can understand why she wants to visit the last place her brother was.
I hope she gets to sit on the very same bench as he sat.
That is why I said the picture was taken from South looking North.

Percy how in the world did you figure that one out just from the picture.
I am impressed.!
I was googling Monument in Denmark and was overwhelmed.
Talk about a photographic memory.
Thanks for you great outline on Lisbon several weeks ago.

Thank You FEB29
Thank You Mathieu.
I have to say when I read this posting I was taken by the story.
How often does a story like this come along.
Duvodas joined Fodors just this month.....and perhaps in desperation to find the location of the picture.
I knew I have been to Copenhagen and walked around everywhere.
But the amazing thing was that I knew I had seen the statue , but where.!?
At first I thought it was the Swimmer as there is a statue there called the Swimmer.
It was the Yacht masts in the background that helped me place it to Langeline area and the Promenade has quiet a few statues as you walk along.
For example very near by the After the Bath statue is the Guardian Angel Statue.
Looking at the picture of the fellow, I felt very sad because he is no longer with us, and sad because he is not smiling in the picture.
In the final analysis ,I got lucky because I knew the statue was in the vicinity of the Little Mermaid.
I really want for this fellow's sister to be able to go to Copenhagen and sit exactly where her brother sat.
Duvodas, tell your girlfriend this also.
Langeline Park/Square is small and it has scattered single trees surrounded in a pattern by shrubs.
Many benches are straight benches, don't bother going to these benches.
Look instead for a single tree surrounded by a hedge AND a Circular Bench.
The bench circles the hedge and if you look in the picture you will see that the bench her brother is sitting on THE circular one all around the shrubs.
Once she finds this circular bench she can align herself (with the picture of her brother) and sit in the very same spot and have the Statue over the right shoulder .
God Bless her , I have lost a great brother, I know how it feels.
Thank You Mathieu.

I agree what a heartwarming story this is.
Looking for the place where a brother had his last picture taken.
I find it truly amazing that someone (Percy) gave all that information from seeing the picture.
My hat's off to you Percy. Terrific.

That is what I was thinking 29FEB.
Glad it is not in Arhus or around Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerod.. or Helsingor where the Kronborg Castle is.
Being less than a block from the Little Mermaid, is very helpful.
Hopefully whenever she gets there , she can give us an update of her visit there.(if she wants to).

We were in port in Copenhagen this spring on a cruise. Our ship was docked at Langeline. There is pubic transportation (bus) from the center out to Langeline. Hope this helps.
Perc, you are amazing!
