We, four couples, are planning a week in Ireland next Spring. The husbands want to try out at least 3 different golf courses -Dunbeg being one. We'll probably fly into Shannon. We'd like to find locations that would offer nice accomodations, and good touring opportunities for the wives. Any suggestions?
Where in Ireland for golf and fun?

I would suggest Dromland Castle which isn't too far from Shannon. DH and I attended a wedding reception there last June. Dromland is rather pricey. If it's beyond your budget, suggest staying at the Bunratty Courtyard B&B. If you rent a car, your wives could drive to Adaire which is about 45 mins. from Bunratty. Adaire is charming and not to be missed.
Carne Golf links near Belmullet. The town of Westport is not too far and the area is beautiful with less tourism. Achill Island is a beautiful touring spot if the weather is good. You can drive to it.

Thanks for the suggestions. We're thinking about Moy House near Lahinch for the Dunbeg golfing. I don't know where Bulmullet is. Do you know of a great golf course that would be near the Dingle Pennisula or one that would be near Kenmare?
Belmullet is on the west coast in Co. Mayo north of Galway. North of Dingle is Ballybunion which is considered one of the finer courses in Ireland. If you have plenty of cash in your pocket, the Old Head of Kinsale Course is spectacular. There are quite a few courses in the Killarney/Kenmare area. The Kenmare Golf Club and the the Ring of Kerry Golf Club are near Kenmare. There are a couple in Killarney that offer great views of the lakes and mountains.
