Where have you had the most amazing meal or pasta in Rome?
Would love to get some ideas on amazing eateries in Rome. Our family favorite is Mario's near the Colosseum. We'll be in Rome for 11 nights and while cooking in the apartment some of them, will be on the hunt for truly wonderful experiences that are off the beaten path.

Nonna Betta on Via del Portico d'Ottavia was our best meal in Rome earlier this month. Artichokes every way and delicious lamb. Also very reasonable compared to the adjacent and not so good Gigetto.

Loved Osteria Barberini. The pasta with gamberini (tiny shrimp) and pistacchios was marvelous, and they have a truffle menu. Absolutely requires reservations for great food at decent prices.

You know, thinking about this question I had an immediate answer but I have no idea what the restaurants name is.
I could walk you there blindfolded, it's just around the corner from my favourite hotel (Hotel Isa). Small, family run (husband, wife and daughter). No English spoken or written (menu).
So all I can offer is to walk you there if you pay for my visit. I'm available any time. ;-)

we ate at Nonna Betta and liked it very much...both the risotto and the Nonna Cod was great but the best meal (lunch only) is around the corner at Sora Marguarita @ 30 Piazza delle Cinque Scole, behind the Jewish Information Center. Homemade pasta and artichokes to die for. Make reservations.

I believe it was the plaza where the St. Marguerita church was...and the restaurant was across the piazza, no idea of the name, close to Travasteri...best lamp and artichokes again...sat out on the piazza. Wonderful.

Loved Taverna Dei Fori Imperiali near the colosseum (had amazing Cacio è Pepe). I snuck in right before they stopped seating people who had no reservations and was so happy it was a little early for lunch!
My absolute favorite was Cul de Sac, just off of Piazza Navona. I ate there three times - it was delicious and the atmosphere was awesome too!

Mr-go. OK, you turn left as you walk out the front door of the ISA and then left again but I can't remember if it is the first or second intersecting street.
It's then just a short bit down that street. This may help, you walk down stairs to get into the restaurant. In other words, it's a basement.
I said small but that might be misleading. It feels small as it is divided up but I think it runs the full length back under the building so is quite big probably overall.
It's not a fancy restaurant or expensive really.
