Where can I get hair straightener, blow dryer in Maastricht, Netherlands?
My niece is headed to Maastricht University. She wants to buy a hair straightener (flat iron) and a blow dryer when she arrives. She likes the "Chi" brand straightener, if anyone out there knows about this.
She will also need to buy towels and sheets right away as well as an electric kettle.
Can anyone help??

Yes, probably she will get her best answers once she's on the ground in Maastricht but...
there's an Ikea in nearby Heerlen, which is probably where many students get their sheets and towels.
As for hair straightener/blowdryer, I recall the MediaMarkt in nearby Aachen as having hairdryers, etc., but no guarantees about a certain brand. If she gets town to Liege (or Brussels, for that matter), the Vandenborre chain has lots of hairdryers and probably flat irons as well. All kinds of household appliances, including a good selection of electric kettles (I bought one at the Brussels Vandenborre last month). They don't list the Chi brand in their online offerings, but it's possible a store may carry it.

It has been some years since I was in Maastricht and can't recall, but I would expect to find a V+D department store in the city. V+D is like the Sears+Pennys of NL. Blokker and Hema are also everywhere.
Same stores for towels and sheets. Electric kettle? After she sees the Dutch girls she might want to cancel on the electric equipment for her hair. Otherwise she'll think about it when she sees her electric bill.
Aha, Maastricht. One of my most enjoyable and memorable weekends was spent here at Carnaval, the Dutch equivalent of Mardi Gras. Tell your niece that you are coming over. You will never regret or forget it.

She can order it on-line -- whether from amazon, ebay, various beauty outlets that are UK-based -- and it will be mailed to her address.
I couldn't find a Chi with an EU two prong plug but I did find a good dual voltage flat iron made by Solano -- there's others that have been recommended on this board:
Here is a flat iron with Europena plug. I was just researching this for myself when I came uponyour question. If you travel to Europe often enough, I think this is well worth it. http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1784.html
or
I have just bought the GHD limited edition flat irons which have a built in dual voltage. They are quite pricey, however if you travel alot it's worth it. Also they are hot pink for breast cancer awareness and $15 goes to tht charity. You also get a heat resistant mat that rolls around your irons to keep them safe.
My best buy as far as flat irons go.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. She has asked at her school, but they didn't have anyone on hand to give advice on Maastricht. But the recommendations below for the stores will be great.
BTilke - thanks for the link. I think that could work.
Mainly, she wanted some store names to try to locate them before she went.
hopscotch - luckily she is staying in student housing and won't have to pay the electric bill!
