I am trying to book flights for next May but it doesn't seem like they are available yet. Any idea how far in advance new schedules are released? I don't want to book hotels until I have a flight. Thanks

If you go to the EasyJet site you can be included on their e-mailing list and you'll be notified by e-mail when the new schedules are opened.

They seem to be phased in..sometimes schedules to a few cities are opened first and then the rest follow fairly soon afterward.

I think that sometime in January would be customary. And I scarcely know anywhere that the hotels sell out in very high percentages for May... before January 31.

I had been wondering this myself, so I just 'phoned Ryanair & they advised me that they should be going on sale in "mid-November" (I don't know why they couldn't be more specific).

Voyager2006 is right to say that in the past easyJet have tended to "stage" the release of their new timetable bit by bit, but from memory (although I'm not 100% sure about this) I think Ryanair usually just put all of their routes on sale in one fell swoop.

From memory, Easyjet normally put up the following summer schedules around the middle of December. They are staggered and release different routes over the course of a couple of weeks but sign up for their e-mails and you'll be notified about it.

Very relevant to me. I had the chance of flights to Nice, flying August 2006, via Jet2 for under £100 and left it thinking that Easyjet summer schedule was imminent, and possibly cheaper (greedy I know). As a result the Jet2 fare has increased above £100 and no sign of easyjet schedule until January. It will be interesting to see whether my wait and see tactic pays off. Anyone else got a view?

Just keep trying - they are releasing flights in stages - I just booked for Paris from Prestwick for next July a few days ago, having been looking for ages!

Caution. Posted prices and final price/cost are quite different! Ryanair has taken the Japanese 'Lean' system to heart. No newspapers, no water, nothing. Be prepared. Learn seating protocol. Remember, if you fly a lowfare line your baggage will be limited!

Ryanair IS up...I've been looking at flights from London to Bergerac for June of 2006, and they're posted.

I'm a bit confused by the logic (or lack thereof) used to establish the fares. A few weeks ago, when the schedule first went up, the tariff for a single fare was 100 GBP...now it's 80.

I think it's just supply and demand. They didn't have as many takers as they would like at 100 GBP, so now they are trying 80.

I've been pricing flights from Florida to Rome and am wondering if it's worth it to fly a major airline to Gatwick and then fly one of these budget airlines to Rome? I went to the websites and saw how low the fares were from Gatwick to Rome, but which of the major airlines fly to Gatwick rather than Heathrow?
