When did an Italian postage stamp cost 0.52 euros
Hello! I found an old postcard sent from Italy to the US which, unfortunately, isn't postmarked. The stamp is valued at 0.52 euros / 1,000 lire. Can you tell me what year this postcard was mailed based on the cost of the stamp? Thanks!

The euro became official currency of Italy in banking terms for accounting in 1999, but was notated dually until 2002 when the money (coins and notes) was issued. So it must have been between 1999 and 2002. That was the official rate the euro was set at in 1999 (1936 ITL/euro).

Thank you very much for your responses! Let me add that I was able to locate the sender of the postcard, a very sweet 86 year old aunt, and she seems to remember it was circa 2000.
Again, very appreciative of your input.
