Whats your favourite bar or restaurant in Bergen (Norway)
Going to Bergen for a weekend next month.
I have done some research on places to eat and drink, but always value the opinions of fellow Fodorites.
Any favourite haunts?

Thanks Gard!
I was thinking you must be away on holiday!
We are looking for good seafood and meat, good wine (of course)and nice surroundings. We just have the 2 nights.
Looking at To Kokker and Bryggeloftet&Stuene.
Any good?

Hi
Well, Bergen is not really my area so I have to rely on what has been posted in the Norwegian press. To kokker seems to get OK reviews...4 out of 6 in a couple of reviews I have seen. It seems like the atmosphere is great at least
I see the other restaurant is mentioned here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...3386_1,00.html . Be sure to test the lutefisk
But I think you might have to try other forums if you can't get any feedback here. Try the TripAdvisor forum to see if you get get any personal feedback there,
Regards

Thanks for that Gard. I will take a look at that.
Dont know if I will bother with the lutefisk.
Growing up in Shetland, salt fish was a twice weekly feature in our diet.
I like it if its not too salty though.

I was in Bergen 2 summers ago, but didn't eat at any "special" restaurants. Do recall buying nice shrimp sandwiches at the fish market.
Check out www.chowhound.com
You will get better response from the foodies there. We really enjoyed our stay in Bergen.
