What's fashionable casual dress for females in Germany now?

Jump to last reply

I'm a 41 year old average sized female who has not been to Europe since 1994. I will be going to Germany soon and I have no idea what to pack as I don't know what is fashionable now there. I live on a ranch in the west so most of my clothes are practical.
I don't even know what is nice casual wear for the US cities really but am lost completely when it comes to Germany. I will be in smaller cities and semi-rural areas in Germany but don't want to appear odd or dress strangely for the area especially since I want to eat in some nicer restaurants. I NEVER wear dresses so don't suggest that but please tell me what is comforable, fashionable casual-ish type clothing in Germany. What colors do they wear and what type of pants? In 1994 I wore all wide legged pants in Paris and boy did I get the stares from Parisan women with those, so I sure don't want to repeat that!
Do women in Germany wear more blouses than sweaters? Are there any fashionable colors except black (I ask because of the heat possibility)? Help!
