We will be in Athens for 3 days following a cruise next July. What are some highlights that we should not miss in or around Athens besides the Acropolypse (sp?)
Can we take a ferry to an island or two. We will have stopped in Santorini on the cruise. Also two members of our party are very picky eaters. Any good dining suggestions? Thanks!

Besides the Acropolis and the archaelogical museum I don't think there is a lot to see in Athens. If you have a car you could drive to the beach, or go see the temple of Poseidon at Sounion. You can also take a variety of tours, most of which you can probably arrange through your hotel. We took a one day bus tour to Delphi which I highly recommend. We also took a 1 day cruise which went to Poros, Hydra and Aegina. Its probably possible to get a ferry to these close islands if you wanted to. Aegina has a fabulous temple, Hydra was very pretty and had nice tavernas and swimming.
One dining suggestion... take a taxi to Mikrolimona and dine at one of the fish taverna's. There are a number of them right on the water, and it was very nice, and the fish was very fresh.
