We're renting a house in Bonnieux with friends for the last week of August. We'll be there for 7 days/6 nights. Wonder what ideas you might have for fun things to do. We enjoy eating, drinking, walking, biking. We're interested in great lunches and fun walks through small villages, etc.
Where/when are the big markets? Any towns that we can't leave Provence without seeing? What about restaurants?
Note: we'll be in Corsica the week before, and Paris the week after, so no need for beaches or big cities. Mostly, we'd like to enjoy the countryside.
I've viewed other postings, and have gleaned some info from them, but would love to hear more specific ideas for day trips. All recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

We spent 4 nights in Bonnieux in July. Our two favourite towns were Rousillon and Loumarin, and the Saturday Market in Apt was quite memorable for how it takes over the whole town. We also enjoyed visiting Lacoste, Isle Sur La Sorgue, Menerbes, and Oppede-le-vieux. There is some kind of forested walking trail right before Bonnieux if I remember correctly as well. Cavaillon was the only place we found less than impressive. If you are interested in eating at Le Fournil in Bonnieux, book ahead! We never made it there, but enjoyed a meal at La Cavette also in Bonnieux. Loumarin also had some great places for dinner.
cheers,
CC
