What time to leave Mayfair London area for flight to Gatwick on a Sunday
What time should one request their car to collect them in London (Mayfair area) for a 1:00 p.m. flight departing from Gatwick on a Sunday? Many thanks.

To be honest - I always leave it up to the car service. they know what the current conditions are and and if there are tie ups etc. Of course Sunday a.m. makes it easier. But I just tell the car service what time I need to be at LHR and they tell me what time they will pick me up.

When I posted last night I should have added a bit more. (and I goofed and read LHR when you clearly mentioned LGW. There are many more questions on here about cars to LHR and I just sort of went into auto pilot)
Are you sure you want a car service at all? A car to LHR makes sense, but LGW is a lot farther out. Sundays aren't bad but the journey will still take a fairly long time.
The Gatwick Express only takes 30 minutes from Victoria, and Victoria is a short cab ride from Mayfair (or a one stop tube ride from Green Park).
So as I said - let the car service decide the pick up time, but if it were me I'd take the Gatwick Express.

Yes, the Gatwick express is definitely the way to get from London Victoria Station to Gatwick. Probably going to be much faster than a car. Normally trains leave every 15 minutes and take about 30 minutes. Last Sunday they were doing construction and trains all day were limited to only two an hour instead of the normal four per hour, so I would plan on that. You can buy your tickets from machines at the station or even buy them on the train for no extra fee.
My flight was at 12:10PM and I took the 9AM train from Victoria, got to Gatwick at 9:30 as promised, and it wasn't very far (there's a lift) from the train platform into the terminal. I would probably take the 10AM or even the 9:30AM train if I were you assuming your ticket is bought, seat reserved, and you have no isssues expected at the airport. Maybe give yourself a half hour for the taxi to Victoria station just to be safe.

Note that there are two terminals at GTW: the train station is in the South terminal, and you get from there to the North terminal via a free monorail. Worst case waiting plus transit time for the latter is about 20 minutes. You can see a list of which carriers use what terminal at
