What time to book tix from CDG to Avignon

I would like to book tix this evening for June 20 CDG to Avignon on the train. I have been reading threads and will give it a shot. My question is - if the latest of our group arrives at CDG at 9:30 am, what time should I book the train? I know there is no guarantee, if one of our party's flights are very delayed, but if we are all mostly on time, what do you say? Thanks! (BTW, if I book prem/non-refundable tix, is there a way to use them for a later train if someone is delayed?)

Which terminal are you arriving at?

Forgot to add, no, if you have a PREM it is neither refundable nor exchangeable, so if you miss the train you must buy a new ticket.

Um, not sure. Delta from Minneapolis, non-stop. Others are Air Canada and Icelandair. The Air Canada is the 9:30 arrival. The rest of us arrive by 7:30 am.

Well, there are two terminals (three actually, but the third is irrelevant here). The TGV station is in aérogare 2, so it's just a walk, depending on which gate you arrive at. If you come into aérogare 1, you have to get over to aérogare 2, which can take some time.

A lot of flights arriving at CDG take a half hour or more to taxi to the gate after landing. Then, if you have checked luggage it can take another 45 minutes to get that. Then another long wait at immigration. It adds up.

In any case, I'd allow 3 hours from the time the last party arrives. It's not such a bad thing to sit at the station and have a café and people-watch; at least it beats missing a train.

Great! Thanks so much. Can you tell me which terminal has the train station? Any ideas of a good place to meet at CDG to catch the train?

The TGV station is in aérogare 2. Here's a map:

Scroll down to where it says Gare. That's the station.

Once you go down the escalators, you'll see the ticket windows on your left. Just beyond that is a cafe, in the left corner of the space. That would be a good place to meet.
