I was there the day after Thanksgiving for 10 days in 1997. It was cold, but not unbearable. We wore sweaters or jackets during the day and long coats at night. I have been in NYC that same time of the year and been colder! Paris is lovely that time of year - some of the streets and shops were decorated for the holidays. The only downside is nothing was in bloom. Enjoy your trip! Cant help you with Lyon.

We were there November, 2000. You can expect temperatures in the 40's - 50's and some rain. In ten days there, we had two days of sunshine, part of one day of severe downpour and the rest just cloudy or very slight drizzel. We took layers of turtlenecks and sweaters with a raincoat with lining...and of course an umbrella. Make sure you have waterproof shoes; and perhaps two pairs if one gets wet. The nice part is that there's no lines at museums, restaurants, etc. We only waited five minutes at the Louvre; no wait anywhere else. We got tickets to shows and plays with no prior reservations. Our hotel had few guests (compared to other times of the year). I think it's a good time. Have a wonderful, wonderful trip!!!

In Lyon last November it was light jacket weather, warm-ish in the afternoon if I remember correctly -- which I probably don't (Beaujolais Nouveau.)

Have a good time in Lyon -- and enjoy the new wine! You'll be there at a great time of the year -- I'm jealous!
