Don't know if you want to really cook, but that kitchen won't really allow it. Nuke stuff, yes, cook, not so much.

I personally prefer not staying in the 7th, but you want to be the 7th I think this a good location. Near the river, good RER and metro connections, not far from Musée d' Orsay etc.

The flat looks lovely and there is lots of light.

re the kitchen, yes its is small, but there is a two burner cook top so it would be fine for any cooking I do in Paris.

Ah, that's where we stayed in 2012. We loved it except for it being filled up with the owner's stuff making it a bit harder to unpack. We loved the location but we do like staying in the 7th. On our first trip we rented an apt. on Rue Valadon and the second trip we rented an apt. on Ave. de la Motte Picquet. This apt was close to RER and Metro, close to our favorite pizza place, really close to the Eiffel Tower and the park surrounding it. We didn't do any cooking there but did enjoy snacks and drinks on the balcony watching the ET sparkle show. We will try to stay there again on our next trip.

Been there, done that. That is why I prefer an apartment that is strictly a rental.

DebitNM, I used the wrong term because I don't know that it was owner's stuff exactly: I don't think anyone lives there, like an airb&b property. It was more like stuff they needed for cleaning (vaccuum, brooms, mop & bucket), extra blankets and pillows, an ironing board, a fan or two, a couple of extra chairs, but there's not a huge amount of storage in the space so these things were in the closets. My husband and niece weren't as bothered by all the stuff as I was... Once I got it sorted to my satisfaction, it was fine and I loved everything else.

I just had to look up the name of the pizza place: Alfio on Ave de la Bourdonnais. We ate there twice and had good pizzas and service both times. I sure wish I was planning a trip to Paris!

Looks lovely, nice and bright and I love the balcony. But....did you look at the available dates? I think in a previous post you mentioned arriving around the end of August and it looks like this particular apartment is booked 8.25-8.29.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

It's a bit more than I would have liked to spend and we don't need 2 BR so storage should not be an issue here. What I really like is having the balcony/terrace. I'm picturing myself sitting there with wine and chocolates-cheese, crackers and beer for my husband. Is there beer you can buy in Paris or will I need to bring some with us from the UK?

janisj-Nice to know it's in a good location. Thanks.

DebitNM-I won't be doing any major cooking. Breakfast will be mainly fruit and delicious French pastries. Maybe eggs but we will just do breakfast at the apt. Will also keep snacks and drinks there.

nola77382-So you have stayed here? Nice to know you liked it and are considering a repeat stay. Makes me feel better about booking this place. Thanks for the name of the pizza place!

wunderbar2-If we decide to go for this apt. we will change our dates so would be there August 30-Sept. 13. I've already done an inquiry and it's available for those dates. I was originally planning to arrive in Paris on August 24th but due to this place not being available would change. Haven't booked my international air yet so we can be flexible with dates.

Great that your dates are flexible. It does look like a great place. Love that there are ceiling fans, plenty of ventilation and AC, what more could you ask for. Oh, and to have such views of the ET all the time, especially at night. Enjoy!

I've seen this apartment online many times and always found it interesting. I love having a balcony in Paris during my down time. Please post your trip report, would like to read your feedback.

Stayed on that street and enjoyed it more than I expected. Quiet, yes, but well located for walking or public transport and with plenty of places to eat and drink including the wonderful Michel Chaudun chocolatier at the corner of rue Malar.

I am almost 100% sure we will stay at this apt. Will decide today. Since my original dates of Aug. 24-Sept. 7th weren't available (it's booked until Aug. 29th) I had decided to change our travel dates and then possibly book this from Aug. 30-Sept. 13th. Now I'm thinking about a drastic change of plans.

What do you think if we were in Paris from May 18-June 1st?? It's wide open available for May and June. Do you think Spring in Paris would give us the possibility of better weather than late Summer/early Fall? Or should I just do the end August date?

I should mention that prior to Paris we will be 16 nights in London and southeast UK. After Paris we will be a week each in Venice, Florence, and Positano and end the trip with 2 weeks in Rome. I know no one can predict the weather but what I'm asking from those of you who have traveled to these places before if you could travel any time when would you go? Late Spring or late Summer/early Fall?

I don't know what to do. Any advice??

Been in Paris in early May and in early October, October was way better. Beautifully sunshine filled days, moderate temps (did get colder end of month) and no ran.

If you are doing all of that other travel before and after, I would definitely aim for late summer, Sept and October. If you go in spring, you'll be in UK with possible bad weather, and by the time you get to Italy, it will be pretty hot.

DebitNM-Ok. Will stick with original date for Paris August 30-Sept. 13th.

Answer to 2nd above post-not really. I must say I don't like beer at all. I much prefer wine. But my husband is a beer lover. I did some research and surprise! Not what I expected at all.

To me when I think of Paris I immediately think-Eiffel Tower, wine, great art galleries, wine, beautiful churches, wine, the Seine, wine.... Well, I guess you get where I'm coming from but I have to consider my amazing husband who always happily goes along with my trip ideas and doesn't ask much for himself. I just thought he could enjoy a beer while I indulge with my wine. Until I goggled this I would never have thought you could get beer in France, let alone Paris!! I guess I learned something new today.

chris45ny, we stayed there for 8 nights and it was great. I would book it again tomorrow (wish I was planning a trip to Paris!). I wrote about it in the Introduction entry on my "blog." One of my favorite parts of the day was sitting on the balcony watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle show. I hope you like it as much as we did!

Your description "Eiffel Tower, wine, great art galleries, wine, beautiful churches, wine, the Seine, wine" fits me to a T but my husband is a beer lover and he found plenty of beer he liked in Paris. He even got a free glass at a couple of different restaurants!

Teach your husband to say, "UnePression, s'il vows plait" that will get him a draft beer.

That used to be true, DebitNM (I've said it way too many times, ha ha - well "un demi" is what I've used) but with the beer options expanding greatly, you're likely to get a follow up question along the lines of "Lequel?" Of course, I'm sure that would still do the trick in places that aren't particularly beer-focused, i.e. many of them.
