What area of Venice to stay?

Jump to last reply

My sister and I (ages late 60's) will have three nights in Venice on our way to Istanbul next spring.
Venice has so many areas, before we even start to look at places to stay, we need to decide on an area. We prefer small boutique hotels, apartment or B&B. Should we be looking at the area behind the Accademia Museum? It seems that would be a little quieter, away from the hustle and bustle but still close to the sightseeing activities and shopping. Your opinion, please, and also any suggested places. Thank you.
