Hi <BR> <BR>I've just found it! Planning a trip to Greece and came across the following page after doing an Excite search on Athens + Mykonos. <BR> <BR>http://www.fira1.demon.co.uk <BR> <BR>That's fira 'one' - I spent ages trying fira 'L' and couldn't figure out why I couldn't connect. <BR> <BR>Rob

Web sites helpful in planning U.K./London trips: <BR> <BR> <BR>U.K. Street & Road Maps Online!!! <BR>This site provides address searching and street/road mapping for the UK. Included are street maps for Greater London and road atlas maps for the whole <BR>of mainland Britain -- indispensible for planning a driving trip in the U.K. (not that I advocate driving in London although the site still is useful for figuring out how to get to a London address or location from any train station, underground stop or tourist attraction. <BR>http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ <BR> <BR>TimeTables Online <BR>Figure out in advance how to take a train to anywhere in the U.K.! <BR>http://www.rail.co.uk/ukrail/planner/planner.htm <BR> <BR>Theatre Directory <BR>Find out what's on where, when, for how much and how to find the theatre <BR>http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/main.html

I've found websites to be most useful so far for finding accomodations for our April 1999 trip to Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. <BR>For Switzerland: www.interlakentourism.ch <BR>For Salzburgalzburg.nethotels.com <BR>For Munich: <BR>http://homepages.munich.netsurf. <BR>de/Nikolaus.Duttler/munich.htm <BR>I have found extensive hotel/B&B listings on these pages, most including pictures, rate information, location, etc. I've been able to Email to many for specific price quotes for when I'll be there and you can make online reservations (at a reduced rate for some). I really enjoy the convienience of of online info, rates and booking capability! If anyone knows of websites for Rothenburg, Frankfurt and Rhine River area hotel/B&B lisitings, that would great - my lodging plans would be complete! Perhaps a good one for Germany would cover those areas. Thanks and I hope my info helps out.

May I be permitted to submit some UNfavorite sites? Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree web sites have become filled with bad language, political diatribes, and messages from druggies who I suspect are paid by the families to stay away from home. From reading their postings, one gets the impression that most are only interested in sexual, drug-related, or political subjects. Once upon a time, Thorn Tree was a great service. Today, Fodor's stands above them all. Frommer's can't hold a candle to Fodor's in its new, improved format. Just an opinion, mind you -- check them out and see for yourself.

<BR>For a FREE, no obligation copy of a great travel publication, go to <BR>www.intltravelnews.com <BR> <BR>This is a largely reader-written monthly magazine that is like a Forum in print. <BR>I have no financial interests, I am only a subscriber and I highly recommend it. <BR>They do non-US and non-Caribbean travel only. <BR> <BR>They love to send a FREE copy to anyone who's interested.

I found several very helpful sites, but probably not as helpful as this one. They are www.ricksteves.com, www.euroshell.com, and the gogermany site, whick links to many of the castles on the Rhine, Mosel and Neckar rivers.

What a great idea this topic is! My contribution is one I've mentioned a few times in this forum - an excellent site for finding Paris hotels: <BR> <BR>www.paris-hotel.com/ <BR> <BR>(Possibly w/o that slash). You can call up accommodations by location and cost, and photos of each property are included. We stayed at two of them and were very satisfied. <BR>

Hi again. I have one more website to share for Germany. I'd been desperately looking for a website with lodging and online booking capability for the Rhine area and I found it! Someone mentioned it above, it's: <BR>http//:gogermany.miningco.com <BR>Happy Travels! (As Rick Steves says)

Of course this site. I also love the Deutsche bahn site that was mentioned by the first respondent. I print out the schedules and take them along. Rick Steves has a good chat site going now. If you love photography, like I do, check out photo.net. You can use this site for advice on technique (eg., I will be taking photos in bright light on a windy beach), equipment, and locations (just about anywhere you mention, someone has been there or knows about it). If there is a better site on photography anywhere, I haven't found it yet.
