What are the best places to see in England

Jump to last reply

I am planning a trip to England in mid-September for 8-9 days. I have visited London, Bath, Bristol and Portsmouth so I would like to see more of the countryside but just can't decide where I want to focus this trip. There is so much to see and so little time...I like history and museums, some churches and cathedrals. I thought about York/Leeds or Brighton or Warwick areas.

Does anyone have suggestions for the must sees? I Plan to rent a car so we can drive a bit, but I would like to find a central location where we could stay and then drive to places of interest. We could perhaps stay a couple of days and then move on, or we could stay the duration and take day trips.
