Weekend trip from Lausanne/Montreux

Dear All ,

I am currently staying in Lausanne/Montreux area in Swiss and looking for a weekend trip.
I have already travelled to Paris,Milan, zermatt, Titlis, Interlaken , Evian , Bern , Glacier 3000, Gstaad as weekend trips.

I am looking for something different than a town nearby lake.

Is there anything nearby meaning 3-5 hour train travel to go over the weekend as flight tickets are way too expensive.

Have you actually been anywhere ABOVE Interlaken?

Are you fit? Do you hike, like mountain hiking, can you walk more than a couple hours of up and down, with great views? Do you have a good pair of hiking shoes? I ask this because this has been what i have been doing these last weekends whenever the weather is best like yesterday or a week ago, day trips from Geneva.

Not sure when you said Zermatt or Glacier 3000, you did just those cable cars and cogwheel trains, return trip, phisically non demanding things or you did more than that.

@kappa1 yes , just the cable cars and I can not hike. We ended up booking a overnight stay at Rocher de naye and staying in Yurte

Seems interesting atleast.

I'm not sure how long you are going to be there, but it is not too expensive to fly somewhere, Easyjet has a zillion cheap flights out of Geneva which is only 45 minutes by train from Lausanne. You can get to Barcelona for only about 50 CHF, for example, booking only a week out.
