Weekend in Paris - Please help me plan!!

Hey all, I used Fodor to get help to plan a trip around Italy and found it SO helpful. So I'm back, and I need help for a weekend trip to PARIS!

It was a last minute decision, but my two friends and I are staying at one of their Grandma's houses on the South West coast of France in the Summer, and we have decided to take two nights out to stay in a hotel in London.

Some facts
- We are ages 17, 16, and 16, all Scottish through and through
- We wouldn't be looking for luxurious accommodation, but not something dirt-cheap either, as we want to treat ourselves to an extent
- We would be arriving at approximately 1:30 on the first day, staying for two nights, and leaving at approximately 5 o'clock on the final day.
- I'm a vegan (ouch, yes, even in Paris), or rather I'm a strict vegetarian that doesn't eat milk or milk products. However, I do have eggs and honey. I don't know if this is a relevant fact, but I thought I'd mention it in case any of you thought I might have any problems finding food.
- One of my friends is doing Higher French in school, the other two of us have pretty restricted French skills (after taking Gaelic, which is sure to be useful at some point....or not)

My head's a bit all over the place, I don't really know where to begin. I was hoping you guys could help plan our itinerary, or at least make some recommendations. We absolutely want to go to the Arc de Triomphe, and Eiffel tower (I read here on Fodor that it's best to go up during sunset, and then sit on the lawn in front of it to watch it light up in the dark. Bit of a cliché, but we are 3 teenage girls after all) and we'd quite like to go to a show, maybe Moulin Rouge.

A couple questions:
- What should we try to book in advance?
- How much should we budget for the entire trip EACH?
- Any specific gems we can't miss?
- I know the legal drinking age is 16 for wine and beer, will we have any problems with this? Are we allowed in bars? We are in the small village we're staying in for the majority of the trip, I was wondering if cities would be more strict.

Thank you, in advance, I look forward to hearing your replies.

For help on accommodation you need to give us a specific nightly budget in euros. InParis true luxury will be about 1000 euros a night. I assume that what you want is probably more like a pleasant 2 or 3" in a central location - but rally we need specifics to help.

As for what to see - check out a couple of hte goo guide books - including the Let's Go student guide or the Rough Guide - to get info on student pubs or cafes - as well as top sights.

I would do the Louvre, Musee d'orsay,Rodin, Cluny, Notre Dame, explore Ile St Louis and take a boat tour on the Seine - but you need to look for what will fit your needs.

Thanks for replying!
Yeah, 2-3* sounds about right. We don't have a budget, we were looking at what would be appropriate for this type of accommodation.
Thanks for your recommendations of sights. Boat ride on the Seine sounds magic!

This is a comfortable budget option, close to public transport:

Plenty of ordinary places to eat in the area, including this:

If you're prepared to spend more, this:

is within walking distance of a vegan restaurant:
