Weekend getaways with teenagers in Spain

Hi,

I have lived in Madrid, Spain for 2 months and will likely stay for 2 years. My teenagers nephews (14 and 17yrs old) and nices (13 and 16 yrs old) are coming to Spain for their winter vacation this December to stay with us for a month. I have already planned a week in Paris and 4 days in Barcelona, but I still have 2 more weekends free for them.
I was thinking on Valencia and Seville, would these places be interesting for teenagers? Can anyone help with suggestions and tips?!
As we are stationed in Madrid, I am also taking them on day trips to Salamanca, Segovia, Toledo and Avila.
Which other cities are interesting for teenagers for weekend (2/3 days) travel?
Thank you for your help.

they may like a quiet weekend kayaking or canoeing, horse riding excursion.. a day at xanadu, or the windmills and castles of consuegra and the don quixote route.

seems there is plenty to do around madrid without getting involved in more flights, unless, of course you want them to see more of europe.

cuenca with alarcon is an easy trip from madrid.

alcalá de henares is RIGHT there.. with cervantes' birth home and hopefully the resident storks when you are there.

of course there is plenty to do in valencia/sevilla as well .. just depends on how much stamina you all have!

Soccer game or at least a tour of the Bernabeu stadium in Madrid. The Ventas bullring has a great museum at the back even if they are not interested in bullfights...easy to do on their own by metro.
Another easy trip for them to venture out on their own is Alcala de Henares-watch out for the storks! The tourist office will give you a free pair of binoculars to see them in action up close.i take the bus from Avenida de America rather than the train.

Since they're visiting in the month of December, if they ski, they might enjoy a weekend day skiing at Navacerrada or La Pinilla, northwest and north of Madrid.
But before planning an outing at either, I'd check snow conditions first to find out if slopes are open.

Or the indoor skiing at Xanadu is fun for teenagers, as lin suggests.

Thank you for your tips. I will have a look on Lisbon flights but the ski tips were great! if weather permits, it should keep them busy for a couple of days. I wanted to go to Alcalá de Henares, but never throught on taking them... thank you!
Thank you, is was very helpful!!!!
