Weekend destination in Ireland
I am in need of another place to spend a three day weekend and I am out of ideas
We are already going to Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny, Kilarney, Galway, Cashel, Belfast, Wexford, Ennscorthy, Ardmore, Dunbrody. This is over a span of 6 weeks and I need to fill one more three day weekend. We will not have a car and will be using the train. We like outdoor things (biking, hiking etc) but also like small quaint towns. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

There are places to stay here and it looks wonderful.
You might have to take a bus after train to get here though.
In NI you can take a train to many of the coastal towns like Portrush.

Above Westport you have Sligo which has lots to offer. http://www.discoversligo.com/ below Connemara you have Clare again lots to offer with West Clare on the tourist trail and here in East Clare the Lough Derg Lakelands although difficult by public transport.
Neither counties are on your list. The Bus gives far more accessibility than the limited Irish rail network.

Tony is better placed to advise but I wouldn't pick Sligo as a base, from my trip planning for this summer there are better places in the area. You have Donegal to the north with what is meant to be some of the very best coastal scenery and Westport and Connemara to the south again with some stunning scenery. I would have thought that either town would be a better base than Sligo.
