wedding

We are planning our wedding for next year October in Barcelona. We would like so information on intimate chapels around the area. We want to have a quaint romantic wedding with approximately 7 guest. I have looked at masxipres and that is one of the options, but I am new at this forum and perhaps I can get some great information for other members. thanks

Unless you are a EU member, getting married in Spain can be a bit of a hassle.

I am sure there must be some quaint spot in Barcelona, but it is an international city with unique sense of design and history.

For a unique setting look at Parque Güell.

To actually get married in Spain at least one of you will have to reside in the country for up to 6 months. Then you have to find a priest willing to perform the ceremony and a church where you can have the wedding. Weddings are typically held on Saturday,

If you just want a ceremony and blessing by a priest then it's a different story. There is no residence requirement but you will still need to find a priest willing to perform the ceremony and a church to have it in. We had such a ceremony in a 12th century Romanesque church on a private estate in Navarra three years ago. The priest was a retired Jesuit and the wedding was documented in Javier, the home of Francisco de Javier, one of the founders of the Jesuit society.

It’s usually not something you can do on your own. If you know anyone in Spain, then they might be able to help you get started. You will need to travel to Spain to meet the priest before the ceremony, should you find one.

The other option would be to contact one of the companies that arrange weddings, but that can be expensive.

Hey Starzzilove,

Have you had any more luck finding a venue? You commented on a thread I started where I was looking for the same type of thing. I have done lots of research but not had much luck. Your suggestions of masxipres is something I am seriously considering. They emailed me and send they could do a ceremony in their chapel for 600 Euros.

My main worry with them is I can't find any reviews of the place online so it makes me nervous. I haven't really found any places that are comparable. Have you?

Its absolutely beautiful..when are planning to get married. No and what there asking for is very resonable.. Did they ask you for a deposit or anything? Keeep me posted.
