Wedding
I am researching options for a Sept. 2004 wedding in the Greek Islands. Does anyone have recommendations of where and who to contact? I am looking into Santorini. Any advise would be helpful!

I stayed at Esperas this summer and it's GORGEOUS. Good luck - if you haven't been to Santorini, you are in for a treat. It is simply one of the most romantic places on earth!!

JMS-I have known Markos Karvounis (from the idomemories link) very well since 1985. I've stayed in his village of Oia for 6 months, twice, as well as for shorter holidays. I can vouch for his abilities and his enthusiasm. He's very well-connected, his family is prominent in Oia and he knows everyone. Not only is he a wedding planner, but he has a tourist office and has been a successful business owner for all these years. If you can get him to agree to help you with your wedding plans you will NOT be disappointed. During my last trip I was able to witness a small bit of a wedding procession as it travelled through the village, and everyone was having a fantastic time and the smiles were radiant on the bride and groom. AND-they were having the time of their lives!
Santorini is a very beautiful and unique island, and Oia is the best and most beautiful and most romantic village on the island. The views of the caldera are unsurpassed. You could not choose a better location for your wedding. Congratualtions, by the way!

We got married last summer in Santorini, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Lila from Heliotopos Hotel planned our wedding and she was amazing! She does such a good job and really enjoys planning weddings. I highly recommend her. You pay one lump sum that includes everything from the ceremony to the flowers to a really good photographer. You don't have to get married at Heliotopos Hotel if you don't want to (although the view there is spectacular). We got married at the restaurant Selene, then had a dinner reception afterwards.
