Sometimes there will be an inquiry from a vegetarian on these forums expressing a concern about eating in a foreign country. I found a web site, www.ivu.org (for the International Vegetarian Union) that lists many appropriate phrases in different languages to help the diner express their desires to clerks and to the wait staff. In the past, I've always struggled to figure out what to say in the appropriate language and now this should be easier.
The site was listed in an article in my RCI Endless Vacation magazine, and also lists www.vrg.org, www.vegdining.com and
www.happycow.net as being helpful too.
Happy dining!
