Weather in Paris around mid January?

What is the weather like in Paris from early to mid January? My fiancee and I are plannig our first visit to Paris around that time.

Is Paris any fun around that time of the year?

Thanks!

Dear Kevin: Paris is ALWAYS fun so don't worry. The weather will be chilly and certainly wet for at least a part of your stay. But that's what museums and department stores are for--and Paris has plenty of both. My only caveat would be that Paris is very expensive. So come with money. Otherwise, just have a good time. Bon voyage. Joan

I WAS IN PARIS PAST MID-JANUARY FOR 5 NIGHTS. IT WAS POURING RAIN AND DARK WHEN WE LANDED AT CDG BUT BY THE TIME WE CHECKED INTO OUR HOTEL THE SUN WAS SHINING! IT RAINED A BIT OFF AND ON BUT WE STILL SAW SUNSHINE....TEMPERATURES WERE PROBABLY MID-30'S TO MID-40'S. WAS NOT COLD AT ALL COMPARED TO NORTHERN INDIANA!

IN ANY CASE, IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY I'VE SEEN. ENJOY!

Kevin: My wife and I were in Paris in January of this year for five days and it was great. We had daily temps in the fifties and about 40 at night. Rather unusually warm as I've been to Paris during New Years' '85 and it was COLD. This last trip it rained during the night once and a little one afternoon. talk about lucky, it was sunny all five days. I don't know if you have your itenerary all planned, but if not, email me and I'll send a copy of our trip notes. It's true, Paris is great anytime. Have fun!
