this is only second hand info but a new friend just told me last week she was in Ireland last year in Feb. I was pleasantly to hear that everything is still very green and not as cold as you would suspect. I assume the weather is very similar to most of Britain, not to cold, not going below 40 and very rainy. Britain has the reputation for gardens because of the very temperate climate. Have fun!!!

Dottie - I was in Ireland last January for over a week. For the most part, it was sunny, but cold. The countryside was green. Despite all that we had been warned about in terms of rain, we only experienced sleet for a brief period one night as we were walking over to a pub. Just take a warm, weaterproof jacket (I bought one at Eddie Bauer that worked out great) and you'll be fine. There were only two evenings that got cold enough that we needed gloves and a scarf.
